Toxic

Toxic is the first release for 2025. I've released this in a couple of forms, a shorter single edit, the original length club mix and an acid mix where I let the 303 really take over. Each version has its purpose and I'm sure listeners and DJs alike will gravitate to their preferred version. The concept for this release came out of an exploratory session playing with the Erica Synths Bassline at the Melbourne Electronic Sound Studio. I found this particular bassline both interesting and compelling so I built the track around it. The rawness of the bassline then made my imagination think about the raw feelings associated with dealing with toxic people and toxicity in general. The breakdown is very sudden, and almost schizophrenic in nature, just like how a toxic person can suddenly change on you. See where I'm going with this? I leave the concept open ended. Let your imagination take you on your own journey when listening and dancing to the tracks. Is it toxic relationships, toxic pollution of our environment, toxic Governments, toxic ideals or all of the above. Everyone will have their own take.
